Annual winter maintenance update - Most trails will reopen for school holidays

We’re excited to share that scheduled restoration works as part of our annual trails maintenance program are now complete. All restored trail sections will reopen at 8:30 am on Saturday 19 September, just in time for the school holidays.

A few trails (L6, S5 and F3) still need a little more attention, but they’re coming along nicely and we expect to welcome you back on these sections later in the holiday period.

Thanks to everyone for their patience and understanding while we made these essential improvements. The upgrades mean better trail surfaces, drainage, and safety for everyone, helping to protect our trails for years to come.

We’re thrilled that our trail network continues to offer fantastic recreational, health and tourism benefits for all. These works will help make your riding experience safer and even more enjoyable in the future.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

Hepburn Shire Council acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung as the Traditional Owners of the lands and waters on which we live and work.

On these lands, Djaara have performed age-old ceremonies of celebration, initiation and renewal. We recognise their resilience through dispossession, and it is a testament to their culture and tradition, which is strong and thriving.

We also acknowledge the neighbouring Traditional Owners, the Wurrundjeri to our Southeast and the Wadawurrung to our Southwest, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal peoples, their culture, and lore.

We acknowledge their living culture and the unique story they play in the life of this region in which the Hepburn region resides and operates.
